I took too many pictures at stations and on the platforms.
Some people gave me a weird look like "wow, she must be a train nerd".
Maibara station in Shiga was deadly silent at 8 am on a Saturday morning.
There was no automatic ticket checker. The ladies at kiosk were talking to each other while handing me a newspaper I'd purchased. No need to hurry in Maibara.
All I could see out the window on my way to Kanazawa from Maibara was rice fields and a huge buddha.(when I was not asleep that is.)
