Young at heart

Since I cut my bangs straight I've heard a lot of this from people...."You look much younger now."
It comes from both Japanese people and non-Japanese people.

Recently I was asked by three different guys if I was an university student.
(I know it came out from GUY'S mouth so I shouldn't really buy it, but still.)

To be honest, I don't know how I feel about it.
As a woman, I guess I'd rather want to look like a college girl than to look a 45 years old woman especially when I'm not getting any younger.

But I wanted to look older when I was younger.
I remember I was glad when people said that I looked/seemed more mature than my real age.

All that really matters is the contents, not the containers.

I guess I don't mind looking 10 years older than my age, but if someone has a chat with me for a certain amount of time and the person doesn't think I seem to know/think a lot more than a 20 years old girl I think I will be upset.

Group Home

It brought me back some memories from 90's.
The main rapper Lil Dap was an unbelievably little guy.
After the show he was dancing in the crowds but he was too small to spot.
So I asked another guy to have a photo taken with me.Unfortunately he was not Melachi, the other rapper of the group, but just a sub rapper to make up the absence of Melachi, who apparently is in jail now.
Oops.Oh well, I am not a big fan of them anyway. But it was a fun night.

Yuri

An old face

I have a good memory and remember people's faces and names pretty good.
The other night I saw this girl at cafe and instantly recognised her from this bakery shop where she used to work at.I was a regular customer there and we had a small talk everytime I went there.

I told her that I knew her and how we became to know each other.
She said she didn't remember me, which was a bit disappointing.
But when I showed her my forehead parting my bangs in the middle, she was all like "Oh my god!!I know you!!!".

That's how different I look with my bangs now I suppose.

The start ot Summer

Rainy season finally went away.
Now it is time for getting annoyed by cicadas, putting less clothes on, and sweating all over all the time.

If you get to see me one of these days...

I will cheki you.Be careful.

light-wise

not good

good

f3.5 1/100 is not good.
f5.6 1/100 is good.
f3.5 1/50 will be probably okay.

I'm thinking

I went out to Shizuoka prefectural museum of art on Saturday to see the exhibition of Ganjinwajo.
He is a Chinese monk who helped to spread Buddhism in Japan in the 8th century.
The temple he built in Nara, Toshodaiji, needed some reinforcement and it is under construction now.
So some of the statues that are national treasures had their ways out to another place like Shizuoka for the time being.I don't really consider myself as a buddhist but like the distinct atmosphere and the smell of temples and I like how they straighten me up, literally.

There is an annex to the museum and it is all about Rodin.
It was interesting to see statues of naked Western men after seeing statues of Buddha.

Hmmm

Why didn't I realize until now that where I was sitting in had better lights and some green in the back?
Darn.

Sis

An utility pole

Another cat

The gray one is a kitten and has a limp leg.
When my sister found him on the street about a month ago she couldn't leave him.
Even though the kitten didn't seem to want to come home with her and scratched her arm a bit she managed to take him in.
Ugh.....we are such cat ladies.

Recently

My mom's operation was a success and she came home on Thursday.
She's been doing a lot better after the surgery and things are slowly getting back to normal.
Thank you all for caring about her and me!

I feel like I spent most of my June in the hospital.
Driving there and coming back from there in the rain almost everyday couldn't make me more depressed.
I was hoping every day of last month that my mom would get better sooner and that the stupid rainy season would end sooner.

I had no energy to take photos last month.
Actually I took one of my cameras with me to the hospital once thinking about shooting something on the roof.
I went up there with the camera in my hands but didn't feel like pointing it at anything.

This weekend I finally brought myself to taking photos.
It felt nice.

The picture above was taken by my sister.I taught her how to focus but she took forever before released the shutter and that's why I am making a face of "are you going to shoot before the sunset sis?".
