I woke up early on Sunday morning and jumped on a highway bus. Off to Shinjuku I went. The bus was full of young ladies who were getting ready for shopping in Tokyo. Most of them in the bus were looking at fashion magazines or shopping guide books of Shibuya. What was I doing on the bus? Eating an onigiri, reading a newspaper, and enjoying the view out the window.
Man I feel old.
I was wearing a long sleeve cardigan as it had been cool the past few days, but what I really needed to wear was a bikini. I mean it was that hot. It turned out to be a way too damn hot day. But it was also a clear day so I got to see nice views from the top floor of a skyscraper.
In Shinjuku I rolled into a photo salon and saw some great photographs.
Also I met a cool photographer. He is a friend of a friend of mine. It was my first time to talk to him in person but I didn't really feel that way. I had a great time. He bought me a lunch and showed me around Shinjuku, Yoyogi and Harajuku. I felt embarrassed to take out my DSLR when he carried a couple of nice cameras. Maybe I will try to use my film camera more if I could figure out how to use it a lot better.
In Harajuku, in front of Zara, which I LOVE to shop at, I met up with a friend. Catching up with her was the main reason that I went up to Tokyo this weekend. You need to see your best friend every once in a while otherwise you go nuts!
I have a few places in Harajuku that I would like to go everytime I am in Tokyo.
One of them is the hair salon that another friend of mine works at. It was nice to see him, though it was only briefly as he was busy working. I am jealous that he works so close to the clothes shop,WESC, that I wish I could go check more often. I was hoping to get some of the fall collections there but they hadn't come out yet. Instead they had some of the summer ones on sale! Why, oh why do those price reduction tags make me feel like it would be my loss if I didn't buy at all? I love shopping. I love stuff on sale.
For the same reason, I had to buy three of paper cover books at Aoyama book center because they had foreign books on sale. I have more than 10 books to read before buying anymore new books but I just couldn't help it.
My friend let me stay at her place and even cooked for me.
When we hung out wherever she lived in before she got married we'd always eat out as she didn't really know how to cook but now she is a married woman who can cook! That's awesome.
We didn't have a chance to have a proper catch up for ages so our midnight chat didn't come to an end until 4:30 in the morning. It was crazy but a lot of fun. Girls need to talk a lot. They do indeedy!
Well I guess I'll post more pics later.
