Rainy Sunday Afternoon

The last day of September was so gloomy.
It was rainy, chilly, and gray.

I bought a couple of films at a camera shop today.
On my way back home, I saw a gray heron standing in my way and then found a weird scarecrow.

The scarecrow scares not only crows but also people I guess.

月夜の晩に

Long time ago back in JHS, we were told to read a poem of Nakahara Chuya.
It's about his loneliness when walking by the sea on a moonlight night.
Every single classmate of mine understood this poem and knew it was about solitude.
But I thought he was saying how nice it felt to walk alone on a beautiful moonlight night.
The teacher made me state what I thought about this poem in front of everyone and I was told that I got it wrong. It was so embarrassing I still remember that day.

-----

It was a beautiful moonlight night tonight.
When I looked up the sky and saw the perfectly round moon on my way home, I just felt, simply, happy.

Cheesy part of me would like to think that there was someone out there feeling the same.

Yuko took it

This is the moment when I was wondering why I ended up in a McDonalds.
I spent only 100 yen there so it is all good.

Monday

On Monday my friend and I went out to meet up another friend of us in Futako Tamagawa.

We had lunch at a nice restaurant near the station and then walked around.
I realized again that if you are with kids you can never focus on what you want to focus on. Honestly I had no idea how the mother of the kids managed to stay calm when they got attention from the other people in the restaurant by making noise in a variety of ways.
I respect all the mothers out there.

I left Futako Tamagawa around 4:30 and headed back to Shinjuku on my own.
It is not very much fun hanging out in a big city by yourself, especially if your knee is sore from too much walking over the weekend. How did I deal with it? I put my stuff into a locker in the station and then rolled into Zara, again. I wish Zara was going to open a shop in Shizuoka, not Shibuya 109.

It was a great weekend, thanks to John and Yuko.
It's funny that now Yuko is interested in taking pictures. Come join the club.

More from the weekend

On a beautiful day

Last week Saturday I found one of the stray cats that I feed being really sick.
She was all skin and bone and could hardly walk.
I decided to take her a vet hoping that she would get better soon. It turned out that she was dying and that there was nothing I could do for her excpet for an operation that I couldn't let her take because it was too expensive and also it was too risky.

I took her to my parent's house and my sister named her "Nana" as she was the seventh cat that we had took in, plus Nana(Seven) is a lucky number.

Last Saturday, on the seventh day since she came along, her heart stopped working.
I felt so powerless watching her dying. Maybe I should have put her down so she would have suffered less. But I don't know. I would like to believe that the last 7 days of her life was a little better than the rest.

Sunday

I woke up early on Sunday morning and jumped on a highway bus. Off to Shinjuku I went. The bus was full of young ladies who were getting ready for shopping in Tokyo. Most of them in the bus were looking at fashion magazines or shopping guide books of Shibuya. What was I doing on the bus? Eating an onigiri, reading a newspaper, and enjoying the view out the window.
Man I feel old.

I was wearing a long sleeve cardigan as it had been cool the past few days, but what I really needed to wear was a bikini. I mean it was that hot. It turned out to be a way too damn hot day. But it was also a clear day so I got to see nice views from the top floor of a skyscraper.

In Shinjuku I rolled into a photo salon and saw some great photographs.
Also I met a cool photographer. He is a friend of a friend of mine. It was my first time to talk to him in person but I didn't really feel that way. I had a great time. He bought me a lunch and showed me around Shinjuku, Yoyogi and Harajuku. I felt embarrassed to take out my DSLR when he carried a couple of nice cameras. Maybe I will try to use my film camera more if I could figure out how to use it a lot better.

In Harajuku, in front of Zara, which I LOVE to shop at, I met up with a friend. Catching up with her was the main reason that I went up to Tokyo this weekend. You need to see your best friend every once in a while otherwise you go nuts!

I have a few places in Harajuku that I would like to go everytime I am in Tokyo.
One of them is the hair salon that another friend of mine works at. It was nice to see him, though it was only briefly as he was busy working. I am jealous that he works so close to the clothes shop,WESC, that I wish I could go check more often. I was hoping to get some of the fall collections there but they hadn't come out yet. Instead they had some of the summer ones on sale! Why, oh why do those price reduction tags make me feel like it would be my loss if I didn't buy at all? I love shopping. I love stuff on sale.

For the same reason, I had to buy three of paper cover books at Aoyama book center because they had foreign books on sale. I have more than 10 books to read before buying anymore new books but I just couldn't help it.

My friend let me stay at her place and even cooked for me.
When we hung out wherever she lived in before she got married we'd always eat out as she didn't really know how to cook but now she is a married woman who can cook! That's awesome.

We didn't have a chance to have a proper catch up for ages so our midnight chat didn't come to an end until 4:30 in the morning. It was crazy but a lot of fun. Girls need to talk a lot. They do indeedy!

Well I guess I'll post more pics later.

Man.....

My sunglasses are broken.
Well, I broke them.
I should have taken them out of my bag before I stepped on it by accident this morning.
What a shitty morning I had!

I need another pair.

BBQ

Having a bbq party on Sunday afternoon is a good idea.
Eating ramen in the middle of the night is not.

She is so cute I could just eat her
