Girl Talk

A couple friends of mine thought I would like this.
Yeah, they were right.
I like watching the video better than just listening to the song on my iTunes.
It's much more fun.

When I was younger, that "Nothing compares, nothing compares to you, to you" song of Sinead O'connor sounded to me like  "I think I'm dead, I think I'm dead to you, to you".
At least I got "to you" right.

Now the song has to go with T.I.'s "What you know about it" in my head.
Damn.

On a beautiful day

Shoot and catch

He didn't know that I was taking a photo of him when he threw the frisbee.I caught the disk just in time after I took this shot.
That was a good way to test my reflexes.I am not too bad.

Those two boys were taking photos of each other jumping off the tree.
They looked to be enjoying doing it so it is all good.

あーいい天気

Old-school

A friend gave me a mix CD the other day without its track list.
He didn't even tell me what sort of music he put in it.
It was all mistery.

The first time I tried to play it I got really excited.
It felt like I was unwrapping a surprising gift or something.

I think I am too used to being able to reach almost any kind of information I would like to get, thanks to the Internet.

-----

Sometimes it is better if you don't know anything.
That leads you to think more, take a guess, have an imagination, and be creative.

The internet helps you to do all those things as well, but I think one or few clicks with your mouse might be too easy.

It's dying

My favorite watch is dying.
It was handed down to me from my father.I think it is from 70's.
Recently its batery run out so I took it to a watch store.
They put a new battery in the watch and it can turn on and show digits on the screen, but one of the buttons on the side that is used to set the clock seemed to have been broken sometime after the last time my father changed a battery a while back.

I asked if they could fix it and they said it would be difficult because the watch was too old and they were not sure if they could get any electronic parts neccessary.

Crap.

It made me realize how I am surrounded by things that can be pieces of crap if there is no electrocity for them.

That's really scary.

Nikon salon

Shinjuku Nikon salon....that's where I first met John.
I showed Tatyana a Polaroid photo that John took of me the day when we met, and she said "who is this?".

Yeah, I look different now.

John's exhibit was absolutely great.
I am happy that I had a little hand in it by translating his statements.
You can find it here.

His show this time was about Gaijin Stare.
It is a stare you get from other gaijins on the street if you are a gaijin.

I realized that I have a similar experience to it.
It is Mini Cooper Glance for me.

When I am driving my Mini Cooper I get a glance from other Mini drivers when we drive past each other on the road.I feel like I get checked out if I was qualified to drive a Mini.

Maybe I should try and take photos of those drivers too.
Ummmm.....probably not.

Cats are great indeed

Updates

I get busy with drinking and clubbing on the weekends and then I get swamped with lots of work on the weekdays.

It seems like it's been that way the last few weeks.

I thought I was doing good at balancing work with leisure, but a couple of weeks ago I got attacked by allergies and a cold at the same time when the weather was changing. My body couldn't handle it all at once.
Then I got really sick.

I was talking to a friend in Canada online the other day and told her how I got sick after staying out really late two nights in a row. Then she said "So you got sick after partying all the weekend and you think I'll feel sorry for you? Ha!".But she also said that she would come over to Japan to take care of me in 14 hours if I needed her.
She is a great friend of mine.

Just a week after I got sick, I was already up and about wandering around in Tokyo.
I spent too much money at ZARA but that was expected.
It is probably a good thing that we don't have any ZARA shops here in Shizuoka.
I would be broke all the time.

Then it came another drinking weekend.
It is probably not a good thing that you have a friend who has a tiny but cool bar where you tend to get free drinks from some drunken rich men.
Well, yes, actually it IS a good thing.
How could you turn down an offer to buy you a drink?

But it is most definitely not the greatest thing to get too many tequila shots and tequila based cocktails when you are already drunk enough.

I didn't think I would want to go out the next day I had the slightly-losing-memories-friday-night.
I guess I was wrong.

Saturday night a friend who moved to Kyoto last year sent me a text message and said she was on her way back to town for the weekend and if I wanted to meet up with her over a few drinks.
There was no way I would want to miss the chance to catch up with one of the coolest friends of mine.

So I ended up staying out late two nights in a row again this weekend.
I didn't get sick this time.At least not yet.

Today was a national holiday here and it was such a beautiful day.
Only within a few ours, I ran into a friend who doesn't live in Shizuoka anymore in the bus(that was random), saw a few friends at a park and tossed a frisbee, took photos, met a guy and made friends with him, had two films developed, thought and talked about having a photo exhibit.

And it was all in the lovely fall sunlight.

I loved it.

Lately

I've been busy and sick so I haven't had a chance to post anything here.

The photo above was taken by a friend at John's photo exhibition in Shinjuku last Sunday.

Hopefully soon, I will have some time to talk about a movie I watched, a concert I saw, a party I went, and a trip to Tokyo.

Also I have a moderate amount of photos to post.

Maybe later this week.
Stay tuned.
