I was watching the Academy awards the other day.
Honestly I don't really care who gets the oscar etc, but I wanted to see how much I can understand the speeches/jokes without subtitles.
Unfortunately my stupid sister plugged off the TV by accident when the show was still being recorded so I didn't get to see the whole thing, which I think is a shame.
Anyways, I found it interesting that none of the four actors who won the acting categories
is from the US of A.I remember that last year in her winning speech at the Oscar, Helen Mirren said that americans are so generous as to give such an honor to an actor from the UK like her.
It seems that in the states if you are good enough at something to be an asset to them, you are given a chance to play an active part and it doesn't matter where you are from.
I think it is great how it is in America.
(I know there is discrimination as well but still.)
Almost 30% of the MLB players are non-Americans I heard.
What about Japan?
There are many foreign sumo wreslers out here and some of them are a lot better than Japanese ones. The two strongest ones at the moment are Mongolians.
What do people in Japan think about it?
They wish they had a better wrestler than them that is Japanese.
"It is a national sports, we have to get it better on our own!"
And this is an American guy who made a CD debut in Japan recently.
He is one quarter Japanese but as you can see he is also an African descendant.
Although he looks like a hip-hop type of guy, he sings Enka, or the Japanese traditional folk music.
I am curious to see how well he could do in the Japanese music scene.
So far he is doing pretty good. I think the fact that his grandma is Japanese counts a lot.

Mayumi
We have known each other for almost 25 years.
I just realized that it is as long as a quarter of a century.
She's been my drinking/dancing/partying buddy the past few years.
We usually meet up at a bar or club both being really drunk.
(It felt a bit weird meeting up with her without any alcohol that day.)
She is one of the coolest girls I know.

Come on....
I hurt my finger when playing basketball the other night.
It looks pretty bad.
It hurts pretty badly too.
I can't bend it.
It is my left pinkie so I didn't think it would matter all that much.
But it does matter actually.
Right now i have a hard time typing A with my hurt left pinkie.
You have no idea how often you type A when writing something on your computer.
I hope it gets better soon.
-----
I was at a supermaeket last night.
There was not a lot people shopping at that time and only one high school boy was dealing with all the customers at the checkout counter.
It was all good until when I went over to the counter.
Several other shoppers happened to head over there at the same time so we all ligned up there.
I waited for about 5 minutes. The boy was damn slow.
There were still three more ladies before me.
I was not in hurry so it was alright.
After waiting for a little less than 10 minutes, finally I was the next second.
Then another part time worker showed up finally to help him out and opened up the next checkout counter and said "who's next?".
It was the old lady behind me, who had just gotten in the line, that moved really quickly and went over there, not me.
The lady was finished even before I got to put my basket on the counter for paying.
I am pretty laid back. I don't care little things.
But come on. Why the hell did I have to wait for 10minutes only to get pissed off at the selfish and uncaring people?I can't stand selfish people.
I didn't say anything to anyone but just made myself look moody.
The boy probably thought I was just an evil look woman.
