Changes

A lot of things happened and some changes were made in 2009.

I quit drinking.
I stopped going clubbing.
I gained weight in 9 months and then lost weight in the following month.

2009 was a memorable year for me and it went by so quickly.
Hopefully I will have more time to take photos in 2010.

Happy new year to you all.

Peace.

My girl

Two months ago

One day in October I found a cat taking a nap and totally decided to disturb him by taking his photos.

But the cat seemed okay with me bothering him.

He even let me pick him up and put him on this blue seat for a pose.
Sweet.

"I am getting bored, meow."

Then he left me.
I cherish moments like these especially now.

猫食系

A news story from today:

Back in April, a 9 years old boy found a cat that seemed lost on the street. He thought he wanted to help the lost cat and took it to a police station. Obviously he loves cats(or animals in general). Sweet.

At the police station, a police officer was confused. He knew what he was supposed to do with the cat, which was to send it to a local animal shelter where he thought the cat would probably be put down in a few days(if the owner of the cat can't be found that is). So he thought about a plan B in order to save the cat's life. This guy loves cats as well. Sweet.

The plan he came up with, however, was not a good one. He just decided to let the cat go back on the street hoping it would figure out how to get back to its owner. There were some documents he had already drawn up to follow the bureaucratic rules but he just threw them away and pretended as if nothing ever happened.

The next day, the cat's owner showed up at the same police station to hand in a notice of his cat's missing and somehow found out(probably from another officer who has a loose mouth) what had happened to the poor cat.

The owner filed a complaint with the police station.

For some reason, after 6 months passed, the officer who let the cat go was reprimanded for what he did....what he did with the official documents, not what he did with the cat.

The cat was never found again and is still missing apparently.
What a poor cat. What a dumb piece of news.
I hope the cat met a new owner while wandering around and is living happily now just like the cat in the photo above.

Decision

When I went out last Sunday to have lunch with a friend I brought just one camera with me with a B/W film loaded. After having lunch, we went for a walk around the restaurant we ate at and encountered this spot. Then I realized I should have brought another camera with a color film in it. It is always hard to decide which camera or how many cameras I should bring with me when I go out. I am glad I had a compact digital camera with me then, though.

Pretty wings

I am very happy that Maxwell is back on making his music.
This song is just simply beautiful. His voice makes me cry.
His new album "Black summer's night" became one of my all time favorites.

銀ちゃん

This black cat sometimes looks like he is something serious in his mind.
He stares at me as if he is just about to tell me something really important like he is thinking about going abroad for a while or something like that.
Often I am scared if he might disappear someday as suddenly as he came into my life a few years ago.

He is a mysterious cat.

A bump

End of Summer

Night light

A big earthquake hit where I live about a week ago.
It was the biggest one I ever felt and definitely the scariest experience I ever had.
Things fell down, a couple of dishes broke, and my heart kept pounding.
Luckily, other than that, everything was okay.
All my cameras were safe, too.

I am grateful for all my friends who sent me emails from all over the world asking if I was okay after the earthquake.

I am okay.
It just changed the way I see my everyday life a little bit.
An ordinary morning feels so peaceful and happy now.
