yet another choice of weapon

This one was not found in my parent's house.
I bought it at a local camera shop for 15,000 yen.
Yay me for finally owning a twin-lens reflex camera!

Kevin

I think he loves Nebraska.

ニーハオ!

I think my new hairdo is making me look even more cold-hearted than I usually tend to look, which is fine though because I enjoy the new look of me.

It's not that someone told me that I don't look friendly or approachable.
I just felt that way the other day when I saw a cute little girl on the train and smiled at her but she looked kind of scared and turned around.Did I scare you girl?

Yesterday I had a chance to meet this girl who I first came in contact with on the internet.
Before I met her I had told her that I am tall and that I look Chinese/Korean but am really Japanese etc.
She looked a bit nervous when we saw each other's face.I guess I made her nervous by telling her those things.

We played basketball together with some other people yesterday, in case you are wondering for what I met her.

Dear my friends

It was good to see them a few weeks ago up in Kawasaki.
I have known him since we were like 6 or 7 years old and am pretty sure we will always be good friends just like we have.
Now he has a lovely wife and I feel like I have known her for a long time too.
That's a nice feeling.

You guys will get through this!
Keep on smiling.

a new choice of weapon

I found this camera in my dad's shed on Saturday.
It is an Olympus range finder and was brought in his hand about 40 years ago.
It looked like it would still work so I put a film in it and took some photos.

Here are some of them.

Not too bad, huh?
They kind of smell of the Showa.

The problem is that some parts seem to have stopped working, which is fair enough for a 50 years old camera, and there is no way I can know how many frames are left unless I count and remember.

Bangs

This was probably the last time I had straight bangs. I think I was around 7 or 8 years old.

Last Sunday I had my bangs cut straight and died my hair back to black.
Is this called brunet hair or black hair?I don't know.
There are some interesting words for the color black in Japanese.
”烏の濡れ羽色”=からすのぬればいろ (karasu no nureba iro)or ”烏羽色”=からすばいろ(karasu ba iro).It seems like those words are usually used to describe black hair.

("Karasu" is crows in Japanese.)

-------

I thought I looked more Japanese than ever, but people tell me I look Chinese now.
Don't know if it was only my imagination that the other day a waitress at Denny's spoke pretty slowly to me making sure if I understood her alright.

No country for old men

The Japanese title of this movie is "ノーカントリー(No Country)".
I don't think it was a good idea that the movie distributer of this film changed the title that way.
The title tells a lot about this film and you can miss out on a lot if you don't know the original title and probably get confused a little.

I've always liked Coen brother's films and this film was no exceptions as well.

It was such an intense two hours.
The good and the bad, the God and the Devil, the old ways and the newer ways, rules and reasons.....

I was very impressed by Kelly Macdonald, who played the role of Carla Jean Moss.
I had seen her in some movies before and knew she was from Scotland.
It must have been a big challenge for her to act as a Texan woman.
I think she did a good job on speaking with the southern accent.

Haru

Kayoko

On the second day I was in Tokyo I took some photos of her.
Later she told me that she was asked by a guy if she was a sort of model/celebrity because he saw me taking her pictures. That was funny.

John

I was up in Tokyo for three days this week.
It was such an eventful three days which started off with sleeping over on sunday morning and almost missing the shinkansen i wanted to catch.Luckily I managed to hop on the train so it was all good though.

Cathing up with John in Ueno was fun.
He made me want to get a nice middle format camera....I'll think about it.
